Admission

The competitive score of the candidate students for the specialty "Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (in Bulgarian)" is formed by adding to the grades of the diploma for secondary education in mathematics and the highest in physics, informatics or information technology one of the following assessments:

  • the highest of the successfully passed matriculation exam (matura) in:

- mathematics multiplied by 3;
- or in physics multiplied by 3;
- or profiling matura in mathematics, multiplied by 3;
- or profiling matura in physics, multiplied by 3;

    or by a math test (preliminary or regular) multiplied by 3.
The competitive score of the candidate-students for the specialty "Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence" is formed according to the specified methodology after successfully passing the matriculation exam (matura) in English or a recognized certificate of language proficiency.
The multidisciplinary Bachelor's degree programme "Smrt Systems and Artificial Intelligence" was developed under the project BG05M2OP001-2.016-0008-С02 „Innovation, science and education for high quality and compliance with the labour market at the Technical university of Sofia and Partners (InnoTech Pro)“, funded under the Operational Programme "Science and Education for Smart Growth", Priority Axis 2 "Education and Lifelong Learning", co-financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund. It has been developed jointly with the project partners: Technical University - Gabrovo, University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy, University of Mining and Geology “St. Ivan Rilski”, Bulgarian Industrial Association – Union of the Bulgarian Business, Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association and it is supported by the Bosch Engineering Centеr Sofia..

The main goal of the training in “Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence” is to prepare highly qualified and broad-profile specialists with a solid general background and in-depth knowledge to develop new ideas in the field of intelligent systems and artificial intelligence. hey are leading specialists in developing and applying the principles, methods and tools of artificial intelligence, creating, building and implementing integrated intelligent systems and information platforms in the global market. The training includes knowledge and skills to work with advanced computer technologies and industrial systems, as well as their application in various industrial fields and the global digital economy. The training in the specialty is in line with the requirements and needs of the contemporary fourth generation industry (Industry 4.0) and covers the latest tools and digital technologies, virtual engineering, Internet and cloud technologies, engineering information management, as well as educational and research programs of leading European universities in England, Germany, France, Italy and others.

Why choose this specialty?

The students will receive special training for professional positions enabling successful realization in various fields of engineering, design, research, expertise and many other creative and management activities. The broad profile and knowledge in the field of Artificial Intelligence allow graduates to be successfully implemented as participants and managers of engineering, research and analysis units, experts, consultants, analysts, etc. During their studies, students get acquainted with current methods and technologies in the field of artificial intelligence and the opportunities for their application; develop the ability to adapt to a dynamically changing work environment and technological situation; develop opportunities for self-learning and self-improvement. The specialty provides training and skills acquisition necessary for careers in a very wide range of fields.

Graduates acquire skills for activities such as knowledge, interpretation and application of theories, concepts, principles and laws in the field of artificial intelligence; formulation of adequate solution in situations characterized by incomplete or inaccurate information under conditions of uncertainty as well as development of abilities to adapt to a dynamically changing environment; application of innovative and intelligent methods and tools to solve complex problems; design, implementation and adjustment of intelligent systems with self-learning and self-improvement capabilities. On this basis they will be competitive in Bulgaria, Europe and the European educational area as well.
