Three research laboratories are included in FIT structure:
The laboratories provide training for students, trainees, graduates and doctoral students in three faculties of TU - Sofia, as MTF, FT and EF. The laboratory is in the areas of:
- e-learning and Internet technologies;
-
discrete simulation (analysis of production systems, warehouses, trafficking);
-
eLearning (graphic simulators industrial methods).
The main activities of the laboratory are:
-
Develop of programs for environmental sustainability;
-
Determining the state of the environment through measurement and analysis of air quality, water and soil quality;
-
Providing consulting and intermediary services in the field of ecology and conservation of natural resources.
Here in the field of CAD / CAM / CAE technologies are 12 engineers with huge industrial experience. The laboratory provides training for students, trainees, graduates and postgraduates from 3 faculties of TU - Sofia: MTF, MF and FETT. The main directions of activity of the laboratory are:
-
Conceptual design;
-
Preparation of 3D models and design documentation;
-
Structural analysis and optimization;
-
Kinematic and dynamic analysis;
-
Development of PDM software;
-
Rapid prototyping and forming tools.
FIT has a number of teaching laboratories, including:
Significant contribution to the appearance of the faculty has Laboratory "Tribology" (included in the structure of dept. "Materials Science and Technology" at the FIT of TU-Sofia) led by Assoc. Prof. PhD Eng. Mara Kandeva-Ivanova. The laboratory develops very active and is expected soon to get faculty status.
